Elite Leadership Martial Arts Academy FAQS

How much does training typically cost per month?

We offer two flexible membership options:

  • Month-to-Month (no commitment): $196 per month
A great option for busy families who want flexibility.

  • 12-Month Membership: $176 per month
Our best value for families committed to consistent training.

We also offer multi-child discounts for families with more than one student enrolled. Our staff is happy to review options and help you find the best fit for your family’s schedule and goals.

Do you require a contract or long-term commitment?

No. We do not require a contract.

Students may train month-to-month with no long-term commitment. For families who prefer it, we also offer a discounted 12-month option—but it is completely optional, not required.

Our goal is to provide flexibility while earning your continued trust through a great training experience.

What’s the easiest way for a new student to get started?

The easiest way to get started is with a free first class. This gives students and families a chance to meet our instructors, experience a real class, and see if our program is a good fit.

After the free class, most families choose our $99 trial month, which allows students to train consistently and get comfortable before making any long-term decisions.

Is the first class free or discounted?

Yes—the first class is completely free.

It’s designed to help students:

  • Meet our team of instructors
  • Experience our teaching style
  • Decide if the program fits their goals and needs

There’s no pressure or obligation.

Who is your program best for?

Our program is designed for students ages 2 and up.

Classes are divided by age and developmental stage, so students train with peers in an environment that matches their physical, emotional, and learning needs. This allows each student to progress safely and confidently.

Do beginners train with advanced students?

Yes. Students of different ranks often train together, as we believe this creates the best learning environment.

Training alongside peers helps beginners:

  • Learn by example
  • Build confidence
  • Progress at a steady, supported pace

Advanced students also benefit by reinforcing fundamentals and leadership skills.

Is sparring required?

No. Sparring is not required for beginners.

New students focus first on building strong fundamentals such as balance, coordination, control, and confidence. This allows them to feel comfortable and successful before any sparring is introduced.

For students ages 7 and up, sparring is introduced only after they have trained with us for at least 7 months and are ready both physically and mentally. When sparring begins, it is:

  • Carefully supervised
  • Age- and skill-appropriate
  • Introduced gradually with an emphasis on control and safety

Our goal is to help students build confidence and skill at the right pace—never rushing them into sparring before they’re ready.

What should someone expect on their first day?

One of our team members will greet you and your child. Your child will wear comfortable long pants and a t-shirt, they will take off their shoes and socks. This class will allow them to meet our team of instructors and see if our program meets their needs. After class, they will be able to sign up for their trial month if they choose to!

What makes your school different from others nearby?

Our studio focuses on building confident, disciplined leaders — not just teaching martial arts techniques.

Every class is intentionally structured to develop:

  • Focus and self-control
  • Confidence under pressure
  • Respect, discipline, and accountability
  • Physical strength and mental resilience

We explain why students are doing each drill and how it applies to competition, school, and everyday life. Our classes are organized, high-energy, and age-appropriate, so students stay engaged while learning to push past their comfort zone with proper form.

Beyond the mat, we emphasize character, teamwork, and community involvement, helping students grow into strong role models.

Parents don’t just see improvement in kicks and punches — they see it in confidence, listening skills, focus, and behavior at home and school.

How do you keep training safe?

Student safety is our top priority. We create a structured, supervised, and age-appropriate training environment in every class.

We keep students safe by:

  • Qualified instructors who closely supervise all drills and sparring
  • Age- and skill-level grouping so students train with appropriate partners
  • Progressive training, where techniques and contact are introduced gradually
  • Strict rules for control and respect, with zero tolerance for unsafe behavior
  • Protective equipment used when appropriate
  • Clean, well-maintained mats and equipment

We also emphasize listening skills, awareness, and self-control, which are key parts of safety. Students are taught to stop immediately on command and to look out for their training partners.

Our goal is to help students train hard without unnecessary risk, so they can grow in confidence, skill, and discipline in a safe and supportive environment.

What age can kids start training?

We offer programs for children ages 2 and up.

For our youngest students, classes focus on basic motor skills, listening, balance, and following directions in a fun, supportive environment. As children grow, classes naturally progress to include more structure, coordination, and martial arts skills.

Maturity and readiness matter more than age alone. Our instructors meet students where they are and help them build confidence and focus at an age-appropriate pace.

How does martial arts help kids outside the gym?

Martial arts teaches life skills that carry over far beyond the mat. Parents often notice improvements in:

  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Focus and listening skills
  • Discipline and self-control
  • Respect for others and authority
  • Emotional regulation and resilience

Because students practice goal-setting, perseverance, and accountability in class, these skills often show up at home, school, and social settings as well.

What if a child is shy, nervous, or has trouble focusing?

That’s very common—and something we’re experienced in supporting.

Our instructors are trained to:

  • Create a welcoming, encouraging environment
  • Build confidence through small wins and positive reinforcement
  • Use structured routines that help improve focus and listening
  • Gently challenge students without overwhelming them

We don’t expect perfection. Many of our most confident students started out shy or unsure. Martial arts gives them a safe place to grow at their own pace while feeling supported and successful.

Is this program suitable for adults who are out of shape?

Yes—absolutely. You do not need to be in shape to start.

Our program is designed so students get in shape by training, not before. Classes are structured to be:

  • Scalable for all fitness levels
  • Focused on proper technique and safety
  • Supportive, not intimidating

Instructors offer modifications and encourage students to work at their own pace. Many adults start with little or no fitness background and are often surprised by how quickly they begin to feel stronger, more confident, and more energized.

How often should someone train to see results?

Most students see the best results training 2–3 times per week.

With consistent attendance, students typically notice:

  • Physical improvements within a few weeks
  • Increased confidence and coordination within the first month
  • Steady progress in skill and endurance over time

Training once a week can still be beneficial, but consistency is key to meaningful results.

How long does it usually take to feel confident?

Confidence builds quickly, but it grows in stages.

Many students start to feel more comfortable after 2–3 weeks as they learn class routines and basics. Noticeable confidence—moving with purpose and trusting their skills—often develops over 1–3 months of consistent training.

Everyone progresses at their own pace, but regular practice and a supportive environment make a big difference.

What if someone has an injury or physical limitation?

We encourage all students to communicate with our instructors about any injuries or physical limitations.

Classes are designed to be adaptable, and instructors can:

  • Offer modifications or alternative exercises
  • Adjust intensity while still keeping students engaged
  • Help students train safely without feeling left out

Our goal is progress, not pushing through pain. Students are never pressured to do movements that don’t feel safe for their body.

What happens if a student misses classes?

We understand that life happens. There are no penalties for missed classes.

Students are welcome to:

  • Attend make-up classes when their schedule allows
  • Jump back in without feeling behind
  • Ask instructors for quick refreshers if needed

Our program is designed so students can return confidently, even after time away.

What’s the most common concern new students have?

The most common concern we hear is:
“Am I going to feel out of place or behind?”

We reassure new students that:

  • Everyone starts as a beginner
  • Classes are structured and welcoming
  • Instructors guide students step-by-step

Most students quickly realize they are not alone—and that progress comes from consistency, not perfection.

What’s the next step if someone is interested?

The best next step is to book a free class.

This allows students (and parents) to:

  • Experience a real class
  • Meet the instructors
  • Ask questions and feel comfortable

You can sign up online or speak with our staff, and we’ll help you find the right program and schedule.
